Applications & Interpretation SL practice questions
Applications & Interpretation (AI) is the more applied, technology- and modelling-focused of the two IB Maths routes - built for students planning further study in the social sciences, business, or design, or anyone who prefers working with real data and a calculator throughout. Standard Level covers five units: number & algebra, functions & modelling, geometry & trigonometry, statistics & probability, and calculus, taught over roughly 150 hours.
Every question below is original and exam-style, with a full worked solution, IB-style mark allocations (M1/A1/etc.), and - where useful - GDC keystrokes for the calculator paper. Nothing is scanned from a real past paper; everything is written to match the current syllabus and marked in the style of IB mark schemes, with method and answer marks.

FAQ
Is Applications & Interpretation SL harder than Analysis & Approaches SL?
AI SL is generally less algebraically demanding than AA SL, leaning instead on technology, real-world modelling, and statistics. It's the right choice if you don't need advanced pure maths for your intended degree but still want a strong quantitative foundation.
Do I need a graphical calculator for every topic?
Yes, effectively - both AI papers allow a calculator throughout, unlike AA (which has a calculator-free Paper 1). You'll want to be fluent with your GDC's statistics, finance, and equation-solving functions.
Are these real past IB exam questions?
No - every question is original, written to match the current syllabus and marked in the style of IB mark schemes, with method and answer marks. This avoids the copyright and staleness problems of scanned past papers, and means new questions can be added continuously.
